FEES AND PAYMENT
I offer standard 50-53 minute Individual Therapy Sessions for $175. Longer and shorter sessions may be available by request.
I accept cash, check, HSA, credit and debit cards. Payment by card is preferred for remote sessions.
Payment is due at time of service. Clients who elect to regularly pay by card will be enrolled in autopay and charges will be processed on the evening of your appointment. Delayed payment plans may be available upon request. Without a payment plan in place, clients may not schedule future appointments until outstanding balance is paid in full.
Time spent in any way on legal proceedings, including consultation, document preparation, and travel to court is billed at $350 per hour.
A fee of $33 will be charged for any returned checks.
REDUCED RATE POLICY
Reduced rate slots may be available based on need and availability. Typically, reduced rates begin at $80 per 50-minute session.
I am a member of the Open Path Psychotherapy Collective, a non-profit nationwide network of mental health professionals dedicated to providing and advocating for accessible mental health care to individuals, couples, children, and families in need. Open Path appointments range from $30-60 and are typically available between the hours of 10am-3pm.
Individuals with prolonged limited structural and familial support are prioritized for reduced rate and Open Path slots. Reduced rate agreements will be mutually reviewed in 6-12 months.
Temporary Subsidy: For clients experiencing heightened financial duress, a temporary subsidy may be available. This subsidy is meant to ensure continuity of care especially in times of extraordinary financial hardship such as job loss, deterioration in health, heightened challenge due to systemic inequity, times of acute grief, etc. Subsidies will be available in 1-3 month increments, with potential for renewal.
***Due to prolonged economic hardship, exacerbated systemic inequities and the increased need for mental health care during the COVID-19 crisis, I have increased the availability of reduced rate appointments and extended the temporary subsidy.
INSURANCE
I do not participate in insurance panels. This means I am not ‘In-Network” with any insurance companies. Depending on your insurance plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement for part or all of your session fee. You may request a superbill you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Superbills are generated monthly.
It is up to you to check with your insurance provider about your coverage for Out-Of-Network or Non-Preferred Providers and services. You retain full responsibility for payment for services if your insurance company denies reimbursement.
Health insurance typically will not pay for no-shows or late cancellations. Coverage may be different for remote sessions (telephone/telehealth video).
Most insurance plans require a formal diagnosis to determine eligibility for reimbursement.
A Note About Diagnosis**:** While diagnoses can be helpful, they can also negatively affect the ways we understand ourselves and our experiences. As a general policy, I do not give diagnoses except if you choose to be reimbursed by your insurance company or it becomes otherwise necessary or beneficial during the course of treatment. I will never document a diagnosis without discussing it with you first.
